Eli Spade, a farmer living on the W. S. Brown farm at the north limits of this village, died very suddenly Saturday evening at about 8 o’clock of acute indigestion.
Mr. and Mrs. Spade were walking to town and were only a short distance from home when Mr. Spade became ill and collapsed on the sidewalk. He was carried into the residence of Richard Thomas and Dr. H. P. Haag was summoned. The doctor immediately administered restoratives, but the patient did not rally, but passed away shortly after the doctor arrived.
at the time of his death Mr. Spade was about 60 years of age. He was a good citizen and a man of exemplary habits, and will be greatly missed in the community. He is survived by his wife, one son and one daughter.
Funeral services were held in the M. E. Church Tuesday at 10 o’clock, Rev. Barron officiating. Interment in Young’s Cemetery.
