E. Clyde Slee, 79, of Liberty Center died early this morning at Medical College of Ohio Hospital in Toledo.
Born March 8, 1918, in Maumee, he was the son of Curtis and Blanche (Overmyer) Slee. On July 3, 1947, he married Eleanor Sharp, who preceded him in death on July 15, 1986.
He worked at the McCully Egg Co. of Liberty Center from 1954 to 1975. He then worked as an inspector for the State of Ohio for three years. He was a World War II Army veteran and was a clerk for Washington Township for 12 years. He was a member of V.F.W. Post #6596 in Liberty Center.
He is survived by two daughters, Ann Schlenk of Rockford, Mich., and Ellen Frank of Cleveland; two sons, Scott and Neal, both of Liberty Center; a brother, Keith of Colton; and five grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by an infant son Leslie; a sister, Wilda Johns; and three brothers, Paul, Allen and Harold.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Wright Funeral Home of Liberty Center, Rev. Lynn Huffman officiating. Interment will be at Youngs Cemetery of Liberty Center.
Visitation will be from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorials be made to Colton United Methodist Church, the American Lung Association or the Liberty Center Fire and Rescue.
