Lester C. Sigler, 52, Liberty Center, formerly of Defiance, died Wednesday evening following a pickup truck accident.
Sigler was born September 19, 1924, in Marion, the son of Ralph and Ruth (Habletzel) Sigler. On September 2, 1957, he married Winona Mourer, and she survives.
The deceased was a truck driver and agent for 21 years for Railway Express working in Marion, Defiance and Napoleon. He was employed as a spooler at Johns-Mansville, Defiance, for five years. He was employed at Midland Ross Corporation, Liberty Center. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post #3360, Defiance, and was also a past commander of the post. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Defiance, and the Defiance Eagles. He was a 10 year veteran of World War II, where he served in Korea and was master sergeant.
Surviving are his wife, Winona; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Sigler, Marion; one son, Steven G., Mt. Vernon; one grandson; one brother, Richard, Schaumburg, Illinois; and three sisters, Mrs. Paul (Mary) Thibaut, Marion, Mrs. Delbert (Sharon) Hamm, Marion, and Mrs. Eddie (Donna) Shaffer, Upper Sandusky.
Services will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at Croll-Wright Funeral Home, Liberty Center, with Father Clark Hyde officiating.
Interment will be made in Young Cemetery, Liberty Center. The V.F.W. Post #3360 will conduct military services.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. on Friday.
