Lydia, daughter of the late Jonathan and Margaret Day Price, was born in Liberty Township, Henry County, O., on April 7, 1879, and departed this life following an extended illness of several years at her home in Washington Township on Dec. 25, 1956, at the ago of 77 years, 8 months and 18 days.
She was born one of six children of the above household and was the last of the family,. An older sister, Mrs. Martha Ellen Mohler, was the next to last to depart this life when she succumbed to an illness on Dec. 8.
On May 5, 1913 she was united in marriage with Charles W. Shunk, and to this union were born three sons: George Wilson, who died in infancy on Oct. 8, 1917; Charles Ray, who died while engaged in service for his country on Dec. 4, 1944; and John David, who survives with his wife at the Washington Township home. She was a Gold Star Mother and a member of the Home Department of the Liberty Center Methodist Church.
Services were conducted from Croll’s Mortuary at Grand Rapids, O., on Friday, Dec. 28, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. David L. Eichar, pastor of the Liberty Center Methodist Church, officiating. Burial was in Young’s Cemetery at Liberty Center.
