Melville B. Showman, 88, 605 Maple Street, Liberty Center, died at Northcrest Nursing Home, Sunday evening. He was a retired tinner and jointly owned the Johnson and Showman Hardware Company, Liberty Center.
Born May 18, 1884, in Liberty Center, he was the son of Charles and Dellia (Young) Showman.
The deceased was a member of the Liberty Center Chapter of I.O.O.F. and the Canton Beaver no. 3, and the Modern Woodman of America.
Surviving are one son, Marvin; one daughter, Mrs. Edward (Madelyn) Segrist; three sisters, Mrs. Minnie DuPoy, Mrs. Lucy Johnson, all of Liberty Center, and Mrs. Vinnie Pohlman, Napoleon.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Walker Mortuary, Napoleon, with Reverend Joseph Burnett officiating. Interment will be in Youngs Cemetery, Liberty Center. Friends may call at the mortuary from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Family requests the memorials be made to the Heart Fund.
