Funeral services for Vernice I. Shoemaker will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Walker Mortuary, Napoleon, with Reverend Kenneth Ladd officiating. Interment will be in Young Cemetery, Liberty Center.
Friends may call at the mortuary from 7 to 9 p.m. tonight (Wednesday) and from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
Vernice Shoemaker, 79, [smudged] Maple St., Liberty Center, died at 3:10 a.m. today (Tuesday) at her home following a long illness.
Born September 25, 1893, in Liberty Township, she was the daughter of George and Lillie (Chroninger) Steward. She was a member of Liberty Chapel United Methodist Church.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Donald (Jessie) Cocke, Napoleon, Mrs. Cloyce (Bertha) Leatherman, Mrs. Lawrence (Joyce) Sherman, both of Delta; one brother, Elmer Steward, Wauseon; two sisters, Mrs. Lawrence (Alta) Kitter, Liberty Center, Mrs. Ruby Harmon, Delta.
Funeral arrangements are pending at the Walker Mortuary, Napoleon.
