George W. Shoemaker, son of I. J. and Rebecca King Shoemaker, was born in Fremont, Sandusky Co., O., March 19, 1866, and died at his home in Liberty Township, June 14, 1921, at the age of 55 years, 2 months and 25 days.
At the age of seven years he came with his parents to Henry Co., and settled on the farm, a part of which was his home at the time of his death.
On June 9, 1888 he was united in marriage to Miss Clara Pontius and to this union were born five children, three sons and two daughters.
He was a kind husband and father and a neighbor who could be depended upon in time of need. While he had been in failing health for several years, his death came as a shock to his many friends.
That his neighbors were his friends was strongly shown by the many acts of kindness during the time of bereavement. He leaves to mourn, his wife and children, Mrs. Edith Carpenter, [cut off]
