Edvard C. Shock, 76, died Friday at his home after a long illness.
Mr. Shock was a native of Liberty township and had lived here 10 years. He was a member of the Methodist church, Odd Fellows Lodge, Knights of Pythias and the Gleaners.
Surviving are his wife, Margie; son, Lawson, Wauseon; brother, Roy, Beaverton, Mich.; sisters, Mrs. Ruth Crossland and Mrs. Zepha Healy, both of Defiance; Mrs. Minnie Siler, Toledo; Mrs. Susie Woodcox, Mrs. Vera Brubaker and Mrs. Florence Wells, all of Ft. Wayne, and two grandchildren.
Services were held at the residence Monday at 2 p.m., the Rev. David L. Eichar officiating.

Edward C. Shock was born Sept. 2, 1879, in Defiance county, O., and departed this life at his home in Liberty Center on Jan. 13 at 4 p.m., having reached the age of 76 years, 4 months and 10 days. He was a son of the late Levi and Susanah (Zoppard) Shock, one of twelve children.
He came to Henry county a number of years ago to make his home and was united in marriage with Margie Clifton on Jan. 1, 1908, and to this union was born one son, Lawson, who, with his mother, survives.
Mr. Shock had spent his life as a farmer and enjoyed the farm and the work on it. Ten years ago they moved to Liberty Center where they have since resided.
He was a member of various organizations, including the Odd Fellows lodge, Knights of Pythias, and Gleaners. On March 29, 1953, he was baptized and united with the Liberty Center Methodist church.
Surviving besides the above named are one brother, Roy, Beaverton, Mich.; sister, Mrs. Ruth Crossland and Mrs. Zepha Healy, both of Defiance; Mrs. Minnie Siler, Mrs. Vera Brubaker, and Mrs. Florence Wells, all of Ft. Wayne; and two granddaughters, and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral arrangements were in charge of the Edgar mortuary with services held at the home on Monday, Jan. 16 at 2 p.m., with the Rev. David L. Eichar officiating. Burial was in Young's cemetery.
