SHINEW - John Lewis Shinew was born at Portage in Wood county, O., in 1862, and died June 29th, 1916, aged 54 years, 5 months. He was married in 1893 to Clara B. Floyd and they were married for nearly 23 years. They lived in Wood county for nine years and then moved to Henry county. He was the father of seven children - four daughters and three sons. His eldest son died in infancy. He leaves to mourn their loss a wife, six children, four sisters, two grandchildren and many friends. His eldest daughter, Nana, married Winfred E. Bell, whose home is in Delta, Fulton county, O. The children that are remaining at home are Pearl, Hazel, Elva, Harman and Luther. He was a member of the Gleaner and Owl lodges. He was a loving husband, a kind father, a good neighbor and a good hearted friend.
The funeral was held at the M. E. church at Liberty Center, July 3rd, 1916, conducted by Rev. J. F. Porter. Interment in the Young cemetery.
