Obituary: Helen Schlender Hellen Avo Schlender, 86, Liberty Center, died early Friday morning in her home. She was born May 20, 1887, in Liberty Center, the daughter of Francis and Margaret (Hill) Woodward. She married Henry Schlender and he preceded her in death March 18, 1955. The deceased was a former member of St. John’s Reformed Church, a former member of the Rebekah of Liberty Center, and a former member of the Royal Neighbors of America. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Andrew (Margaret) Gineman, Liberty Center, and one grand laughter. Friends may call at the Walker Mortuary, Napoleon, from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Funeral services will be held at the Walker Mortuary Monday at 1 p.m. with Reverend Joseph Burnett, pastor of St. Paul United Methodist Church, Liberty Center, officiating. Interment will be in Youngs Cemetery, Liberty Center. The family requests that memorials be made to the Heart Association.
