Henry W. Schall was born December 18, 1873 in Pleasant township, the son of Peter Schall and his wife Christina, nee Bauer. At the age of fifteen he was baptized and confirmed in the Reformed Church at New Bavaria.
On April 15, 1896, he was united in marriage to Alpha Kigar and to this union was born two sons and two daughters.
Fraternally he was a loyal and devoted member of the Knights of Pythias and attended when health would permit.
He spent his entire life in Henry county and at the time of his death resided at his home two and one-half miles west of Liberty Center.
Due to a heart ailment he had not been actively engaged in farming for the last four years and following a recent serious illness seemed to be gaining in strength.
On January 11, at the age of 67 years and 24 days, he passed away with a heart attack.Left to mourn his passing are: his wife, two sons, Roy H. of Paulding and Hanfred E. of Defiance, two daughters, Mrs. B. J. Ducat of Paulding and Mrs. Joe V. Myers of this place, eight grandchildren, one brother, four sisters and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted at the home on Tuesday afternoon, January 14, at 2:30, the Rev. L. C. McCandlish officiating. Interment took place at Young's cemetery.
