Alpha Schall was born September 25, 1874, in Washington township, Henry county, O., and departed this life October 4 at the Paulding Memorial hospital after an illness of several weeks. She had been quite active until recently, when her health failed. She had attained the age of 78 years and nine days.
On April 21, 1896 she was united in marriage with Henry W. Schall, and to this union were born four children: two daughters, Eunice and Bernice, and two sons, Hanford and Roy.
On Jan. 11, 1941, her husband departed this life.
Mrs. Schall, when active in health, participated in the activities of the Rebekah and Pythian Sisters. She was a member of the Berean class of the Methodist Sunday school and interested in the work of the church, having entertained in recent years this class.
She had spent practically her entire lifetime in and around Liberty Center and will be sadly missed by those who knew her best.
Surviving arc the two daughters, Mrs. Bernard Ducat, of Paulding; Mrs. Joe E. Myers, of Napoleon; two sons, Hanford, of Defiance, and Roy, of Paulding; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, four sisters, Mrs. Howard Overmier, Mrs. Bertha Mohler, Mrs. Deal Bowers and Mrs. Charles Bisher; one brother, Scott Kigar, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted from the Boyer-Walkcr mortuary Monday, Oct. 6 at 2:30 p.m. by the Rev. David L. Eichar, pastor of the Liberty Center Methodist church. Burial was in Young’s cemetery in Liberty Center.
