Vane B. Saul, 73, Maple Street, Liberty Center, died Wednesday afternoon in his home.
A retired farmer and livestock dealer, he was born in Monroe Township, Henry County, on April 12, 1897, the son of J. J. and Sarah (Mohler) Saul.
Mr. Saul was a member of the United Methodist Church, Liberty Center, and was chairman of the church trustees. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge F. & A.M., the Order of Easter Stars, Liberty Center, and Scottish Rite, Valley of Toledo, and was a former Liberty Center councilman.
Surviving are his wife, Bessie; one son, Bryan, Liberty Center; one daughter, Mrs. Lyle (Hilda) Spiess, Liberty Center; one brother, Harold, Liberty Center; seven sisters, Mrs. Rueben (Ethel) Whitmire, Delta, Mrs. Dale (Bertha) Spiess, Delta, Mrs. Charles (Tillie) Starkey, Liberty Center, Mrs. William (Edrie) Smith, Sandusky, Mrs. Howard (Frances) Strayer, Neapolis, Mrs. Harold (Edith) Studer, Tavares, Florida, Mrs. Harold (Helen) Hollinger, Delta; and four grandchildren.
Masonic memorial services will be held at 8 p.m. Friday in the Walker Mortuary, Napoleon, conducted by the Liberty Center Lodge 518.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the mortuary, Reverend Joseph Burnett officiating. Interment will be in Young Cemetery, Liberty Center.
