Burdette Saneholtz, 72, of Liberty Center died Saturday afternoon at his residence.
Born June 16, 1930, in Liberty Center, he was the son of the late Donald Saneholtz and Leona (Barlow) Saneholtz, who survives. On May 27, 1951, he married Eva Silveus, who survives.
A farmer, he was a member of Liberty Chapel United Methodist Church, Liberty Center, and was a choir member and former trustee. He was also a member of the Henry County Farm Bureau, Tri-County Rural Electric Board, Liberty Center HOSTS program, Liberty Center Athletic Boosters, Liberty Center Post #492 of the American Legion as well as a past commander, V.F. W. Post #6596 of Liberty Center and a former member of the Liberty Center Public Library Board and Liberty Center Elevator Association Board. He served in the 32nd infantry regiment, heavy mortar division, during the Korean War. He received two bronze stars.
He is also survived by four daughters, Beverly Speiser of Napoleon and Sharon Miller, Rita Bare and Susan Miller, all of Liberty Center; two sons, Ronald and Roger, both of Liberty Center; two sisters, Patsy Leatherman of Napoleon and Elnora Bechtol of Defiance; three brothers, Dr. William of Columbus, Milton of Toledo and Phil of Milford; and 15 grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Liberty Chapel United Methodist Church, Pastor Jim Condrey officiating. Interment will follow at Youngs Cemetery, Liberty Center, military services being conducted by the local Legion and V.F.W.
Visitation will be from 2-9 p.m. today at Wright Funeral Home, Liberty Center.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Liberty Chapel United Methodist Church Building Fund, Liberty Center Public Library or Hospice of Henry County.
