Elderly Liberty Center woman Napoleon's second fatality of ‘74
Ethel Sager, 80, Liberty Center, was killed in a two-car accident on 424 East, near the Anthony Wayne Supper Club at 10:51 a.m. Sunday.
Mrs. Sager was a passenger in a car driven by Sadie M. Kessler, 75, Liberty Center, traveling west on 424.
The Kessler car slowed to make a left turn into the Anthony Wayne Supper Club parking lot, not seeing a car driven by Franklin A. Brown, Napoleon, headed east on Route 424. The Brown auto struck the Kessler auto in the side with its right front end. The Kessler car was demolished.
The Brown auto left a total of 69 feet of skidmarks before and after the impact. The Kessler car was in the eastbound lane at the point of impact.
Mrs. Kessler was cited for failure to yield the right of way. She was taken to Heller Memorial Hospital by the Napoleon Rescue Squad and is listed in fairly good condition.
Franklin Brown, and the passenger of his car, April Brown, were taken to Heller Memorial Hospital by a patrolman at the scene.
Ethel Sager was taken to Wesche Funeral Home by the Napoleon Rescue Squad.
