David Ruiz, 55, of Liberty Center died Wednesday at Medical College of Ohio Hospital in Toledo.
Born March 25, 1942, in Jewett, Texas, he was the son of Carmen (Trevino) and the late Espetacion Ruiz. On Nov. 28. 1963, he married Jeanette McCorkle. who survives.
He was employed at General Motors of Defiance for 24 years.
He is also survived by a son, Chon at home; three brothers, Jose of Cecil, Juan of Payne, Ohio, and Paul of Decatur, Ind.; nine sisters, Irene Perez of Payne, Connie Torres of Cleveland, Tenn., Louise Zimmerman of Wauseon, Sally Foelher of Fort Wayne, Ind., Martha Cartsen of Tennessee, Maggie Pfefferkorn of Fort Wayne, Ind., Lanni Connelly of Fort Wayne, Ind., Theresa Smith ot Seattle, Wash., and Elida Sorg of Hoagland, Ind.
He was also preceded in death hy a daughter, Sara Ruiz; and a brother, Daniel Ruiz.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Liberty Chapel United Methodist Church of Liberty Center, Rev. Lynn Huffman officiating. Interment will be at Youngs Cemetery of Liberty Center.
Visitation will be today from 7-9 p.m. and Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Wright Funeral Home of Liberty Center.
