William H. Ruch, 79, of Wauseon passed away Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2009, at the Inpatient Hospice Center. Defiance.
William was born Jan. 19, 1930, in Defiance, to the late Warren and Grace (Kretz) Ruch. He married Paula J. Ernst on June 22, 1952, and she survives in Wauseon.
Also surviving are a daughter, Vickie (Richard) Kaullen, Wauseon; sons, James (Alice) Ruch, Longwood, Fla., and Thomas (Rena) Ruch, Wauseon; five grandchildren, Matthew (Andrea) Kaullen, Megan (Sherman) Green, Brenda (Winter Arcane) Ruch, Stephen Ruch and Adam (Alicia) Ruch; three great-grandchildren, Evan and Aubrey Kaullen and Elijah Ruch; brother, Larry (Joann) Ruch, Defiance; and his dog, Molly.
One brother, Wanren Ruch Jr., also preceded him in death.
Mr. Ruch was employed at All Star Products, Defiance, Ver-hoff Alfalfa Mill, Napoleon, and Bruce Ernst Asphalt, Wauseon. He attended North Richland and Adams schools and enlisted in the U.S. Army in January 1949. He served in the Korean War from 1950-51. William was a life member of V.F.W. Post #7424 and American Legion Post #265, both in Wauseon.
Visitation is Saturday from 2-8 p.m. in the Wright-Hobbs Funeral Home, Liberty Center, where funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 16, 2009. Burial will be in Youngs Cemetery, Liberty Center, preceded by military rites conducted by the Fulton County Honor Guard.
