Mary Preble Rogers was born in Sherman’s Valley, Perry county, Pa., April 15,1823 and was married to William Rogers May 5, 1842, in Seneca county Ohio. To this union were born ten children. Alfred died Oct. 4, 1846; George died Sep. 6, 1850; Sarah died Sept. 6,18566 in Seneca Co. O. William and Mary and seven children moved to the farm one mile north and one mile west of Liberty Center, O., in the. spring of 1864, where they resided until June 24, 1875 when William was called by his Redeemer, aged 61 years. Mary Rogers then moved to Liberty Center where she lived for 21 years and from which home she was called by her Heavenly Father to join her loved ones on the other slde of the river where she will embrace those loved ones gone before. By the teaching bf her parent, Joshua Preble, a teacher and a preacher for the Wyandott and Mohawk tribes of Indians, at the age of 12 years she gave her heart to the Lord and lived a devoted Christian for 75 years.
At the tlme of her death she was 86 years, 11 months and 13 days of age. Funeral services were conducted by her pastor, Rev. Leatherman, assisted by Rev. Berger, and the remains laid to rest In Young’s cemetery.
