Doris Anna Ritter, 87, of Napoleon, died Tuesday at Harborside Healthcare, Swanton.
Born Oct. 20, 1917, in Liberty Center, she was the daughter of Carl D. and Agnes (Boulis) Mourer. On May 17, 1940, she married Gladden Ritter, who preceded her in death on Feb. 18, 1988.
A homemaker, she was a member of St. John Episcopal Church, the homemakers club and the church's altar guild . She also served as a Gray Lady for the former Heller Memorial Hospital and Henry County Hospital, Napoleon. She was a 50-year member of the Napoleon V.F.W. Post #8218 Auxiliary, served as past Noble Grand of the Napoleon Rebakah Lodge #504 and served for many years as a volunteer "grandmother'' for West School, Napoleon.
She is survived by a son, Terrance "Terry" (Carol) Ritter of Wauseon; a twin sister, Donna Beougher of Laurelville, Ohio; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Jan, in 1943; and a sister, Winona Sigler in 1988.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at St. John Episcopal Church, Napoleon, Father Collins Asonye, Pastor Brian Haller and Father Daniel Orr officiating. Interment will be at Youngs Cemetery, Liberty Center.
Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Friday at Walker Mortuary and one hour prior to the service at the church Saturday.
