Charles Rising, 66, of Liberty Center died Wednesday at St. Vincent Medical Center of Toledo.
Born Jan. 14, 1931, in Stryker, he was the son of Chester and Mary Ann (Hoplinger) Rising. On Jan. 14, 1992, he married Elizabeth Guyer, who survives.
He owned and operated Rising & Son Painting for 35 years, retiring in 1979.
He is also survived by a daughter, Kathy Gasche of Liberty Center; two stepsons, John Mattlin of Houston, Texas, and Jason Mattlin of Genoa, Ohio; two brothers, Herbert of Adrian, Mich., and Harold of Oak Shade, Ohio; two sisters, Delores Kidd and Sharon Bearden, both of Toledo; two half brothers, Larry Rising of West Unity and Garry Rising of Bryan; and a grandchild.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Craig and Kevin; and a sister, Rosella Case.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Wright Funeral Home of Liberty Center, Rev. Martin Dene's officiating. Interment will be at Youngs Cemetery of Liberty Center.
Visitation will be Friday from 2-9 p.m. at the Wright Funeral Home of Liberty Center.
The family suggests memorials be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
