Aaron James "Boopkey" Ripke, 18, of Liberty Center died Monday, Nov. 24, 2008 in Henry County as a result of injuries sustained in an auto accident.
Aaron was born Oct. 7, 1990 in Napoleon to James W. Smith and Lori E. Shambarger, and they survive.
Also surviving are his grandparents, Jim and Barb Shambarger, Liberty Center; great-grandmother, Thelma Guyer, Liberty Center; sisters, Jessica Ripke and Cheyanne Shambarger; half brother, Colt Smith; uncle, Mike (Amanda) Shambarger, Napoleon; and step father, Tom Ripke.
Aaron was a senior at Four County Career Center, where he was studying computer aided design. He was a former member of the Liberty Center High School Marching Band and was extremely proud of the percussion section, in which he played. Aaron was also a member of Liberty Center United Methodist Church and enjoyed spending time doing various activities on his computer. He was a level-headed and responsible young man and will be remembered for his caring nature and great sense of humor.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 30, 2008 at Liberty Chapel United Methodist Church, 9-474 County Road V, Liberty Center, with his Pastor, Rev. Don Hague, presiding. Burial will follow at Youngs Cemetery, Liberty Center. Visitation will be Saturday from noon-9 p.m. in the Wright-Hobbs Funeral Home, Liberty Center.
