George Reed, 62, Napoleon, died Monday afternoon at Heller Memorial Hospital, Napoleon.
He was born September 10, 1914, in Syracuse, New York, the son of Charles and Cathryn (Dubendoerfer) Reed. In September 1945 he married Crystal Steward and she survives.
The deceased was a retired brakeman for the Penn Central Railroad, retiring in July 1976 after 40 years of service. He was a member of the Episcopal Church and the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen. He was also a United States Navy veteran of World War II.
Surviving besides his wife are one son, George, Berkeley, California; and one daughter, Mrs. Ken (Beverly) Cramer, Coshocton.
Services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Walker Mortuary, Napoleon, with Reverend Norman Newman officiating.
Interment will be made in Young Cemetery, Liberty Center, where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Bert G. Taylor Post #300, Napoleon.
Friends may call at the mortuary from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday.
