Orilla Myers Pontious, daughter of Charles S. and Susanna Myers, was born in Damascus township, Henry co., Ohio, May 10, 1891, and departed this life in Grant Hospital, Columbus, O., on June 22, 1938 at the age of 47 yrs. 1 mo., and 12 days.
On January 1, 1914, she was united in marriage with Harry M. Pontious and to this union were born five children: Ruth E., H. Lowell; Paul M., Richard B., and David W.
She leaves to mourn her loss the above family, all of whom reside in Columbus, Ohio, her parents, who reside in Liberty Center, Ohio, three sisters, Mrs. H. L. Allen of Toledo, Mrs. C. C. Connolly and Mrs. F. B. Dershem of Napoleon, two brothers, Joe V. Myers of Liberty Center and Chas. D. Myers of Toledo.
Early in life she united with the Methodist church of Liberty Center, O. Membership was transferred to the United Methodist church of Napoelon, Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, and Columbus, Ohio, as her residence changed. She was an active and loyal member, wherever her lot was cast.
She was a loving wife and mother. Her beautiful Christian life and influence will live on through the years in the lives and hearts of those with whom she came in contact. Of her life and work her Master can only say “Well done.”
Funeral services were conducted at North Broadway M. E. Church by her pastor, Dr. C. M. Coulter and at Napoleon M. E. Church by her pastor, assisted by Rev. J. O. Young. Interment was in Young’s Cemetery, Liberty Center, Ohio.
