Mrs. Fern V. (Sharpe) Penny, 80, formerly of Liberty Center, died Oct. 22 in Southgate, Mich.
Mrs. Penny was born in Liberty Center on Jan. 26, 1907 to Dan and Florence (Chamberlin) Sharpe, and was preceded in death by her brothers, Royal, Orville, and Beatrice, and sister, Gladys. She was the fourth of six children.
Mrs. Penny attended Liberty Center schools, graduating in 1926. She lived in Toledo from 1926 to 1949, marrying Louis Penny on May 6, 1949. They moved to Southgate where she lived until her death. They wintered in Palmetto, Fla.
Mrs. Penny was a member of Calvary Community Reformed Church of Southgate.
Surviving besides her husband are sons, Earl Spencer, Jr., of Toledo, and Daniel Penny, of Holland, Mich.; daughter, Mrs. Colleen Fosnaught, of East Berlin, Pa.; brother, Howard Sharpe, of Toledo; nine grandchildren, and seven greatgrandchildren.
Services were held in Southgate, with interment on Oct. 26 in Youngs Cemetery, Liberty Center. The family requests that contributions be made in memory of Fern Sharpe Penny to the Liberty Center Historical Society, Box 106, Liberty Center, Ohio 43532.
