Heart Attack Is Fatal To Melvin Patrick, Former Area Resident
Melvin ‘Pat’ Patrick, 38, well known in Liberty Center, died Suddenly at his home in Napoleon Tuesday morning of a heart attack.
Mr. Patrick arose not feeling well and had invited his business partners to his home for a conference and during the meeting complained several times of pains in his neck and shoulders. He was stricken suddenly, and efforts of the Napoleon rescue squad to revive him were futile.
He was a former employee of L. S. Dunbar and was preparing to go into business for himself in Deshler this week.
He was a graduate of Liberty Center high school and leaves a host of friends in this vicinity. He was a Mason, a member of the American Legion and a World War II veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Luella; son, Doyle; his mother, Mrs. Ada Patrick, formerly of Colton; two brothers, Ray and John; four sisters, Mrs. Willard Parker, Mrs. Leonard Kern, Mrs. Lester Glanz, and Evelyn Patrick.
Funeral services will be held at the Boyer-Walker funeral home in Napoleon at 2 p.m. on Friday with the Rev. A. J. Steinke officiating. Burial will be in Young’s cemetery in Liberty Center.
Friends may call at the funeral home today between the hours of 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
