Evelyn M. Parker, formerly of River Road, Toledo, OH, passed away November 4, 1999, at Heartland of Perrysburg.
She was the first of 6 children born to Charles K. and Rella B. (Weirich) Crawford on November 17, 1904 in Liberty Center, Ohio. She married Edward Harvey Parker on May 4, 1924. They had a wonderful life together.
Evelyn was employed for many years at Owens-Illinois where she was a secretary to Fred E. Fuller in the Law Dept. She retired in 1966.
Evelyn had many interests and hobbies including antique collecting. She was a member of the Glass Collectors Club, the Ohio and Maumee Valley Historical Societies, and Onized Club. She refinished furniture like a pro and even made her own elaborate custom draperies for her home.
Evelyn and Harve were members of the Second Church, Christ Scientist at Collingwood and Bancroft and the Mother Church in Boston.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward Harvey; sister, Ruth Desgrange; brothers, Charles, George, and Robert Crawford. She is survived by sister, Mary Van Patten; sister-in-law, Nila Crawford; special nieces, Sharon Dela-Hamaide and Marylin Jeffers; special nephews, Doug Desgrange, Tom Crawford, George A. Crawford, and Allen David Desgrange. Also great nieces, Melissa Robinson and Laura (Crawford) Caldwell, and great nephews, G. Christopher Crawford, Matthew Crawford, and Michael P. Crawford.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 7, 1999, at Wright Funeral Home in Liberty Center, Ohio. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday, November 6, 1999. Interment will be in Youngs Cemetery, Liberty Center, Ohio.
