Howard Kenneth Overmier, sn of James Irvin and Gertrude Smith Overmier, was born in Liberty Center June 6, 1898, and departed this life at St. Vincent's hospital Jan. 29, 1953, at the age of 54 years, 7 months and 23 days.
He lived all his life in Henry county, serving as a township trustee and a member of the Henry County Fair Board for many years. He was a member of the Liberty Center Odd Fellows Lodge.
On Aug. 3, 1918, he was united in marriage with Oneita Kigar, and to this union were born six sons: Marvin L., of Toledo; Richard W., of Columbus; Dr. James Bryce, of Leipsic; Robert H., of Archbold; Milton L., of Liberty Center, and Paul L., who resides at home.
He leaves to mourn their loss, his wife, Oneita; his six sons; his mother, Mrs. Gertrude Overmier, of Liberty Center; and six grandchildren. His father and a sister, Beryl L., preceded him in death.
Funeral services were conducted from the Boyer-Walker mortuary in Napoleon on Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The Rev. David L. Eichar, pastor of the Liberty Center Methodist church, officiated. Burial was in Young's cemetery in Liberty Center.
