Mrs. Gertrude Overmier, 82, died on Wednesday of last week in the Heller Memorial hospital, Napoleon, after a brief illness.
Mrs. Overmier was a lifelong resident of Henry county and lived on a farm near Liberty Center for many years. She was a member of the Pythian Sisters lodge for about 50 years.
Surviving are sons, Frank, Liberty Center, and Lester, North Baltimore, and a brother, Clifford Smith, Liberty Center.
Services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Methodist church, with the Rev. David L. Eichar officiating. Burial was in Young's cemetery.

Gertrude Claudia, daughter of Livonia and Frank Smith, was born near Liberty Center on Feb. 16, 1874, and departed this life on April 4, 1956, at Heller Memorial hospital, Napoleon, where she was taken after a brief illness in her own home and the home of her son, Leslie [sic], at the age of 82 years, one month and 19 days.
One brother, Clifford Smith, is the only remaining child of a family of five children.
Gertrude was united in marriage to James Irvin Overmier, who preceded her in death.
To this union were born a daughter, Beryl Livonia; three sons, Leslie Lyle, North Baltimore; Frank Samuel, Liberty Center, and Howard Kenneth. Beryl land Howard preceded her in death.
She was baptized in the Liberty Center Methodist church May 13, 1951, where she had also been a charter member of the Women's Society of Christian Service. She was a charter member of the Pythian Sister lodge of Liberty Center and received her 50-year pin in 1919. She was a member of the Berean class since 1920 and enjoyed the fellowship of this group.
She leaves to mourn her passing, her brother and sister-in-law, Vera; her sons, their wives, a son-in-law, Bernard Lanker, of Toledo; 14 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services were conducted Sunday afternoon, April 8 at 2 o'clock from the Liberty Center Methodist church with the pastor, David L. Eichar officiating. Burial was in Young's cemetery, Walter's funeral home in charge of arrangements.
