George J. Mohler, 80, Napoleon, died early Wednesday morning at his home.
Born in Liberty Center on June 20, 1908, he was the son of Ralph and Ida (Fahringer) Mohler. On Aug. 28, 1929, he married Louella Babcock, and she survives.
A retired farmer and former labor supervisor with the Ruckman-Hansen Construction Co. of Fort Wayne, Mohler began working for the Henry County Highway Department in 1963 and served as its highway superintendent from 1966-1974. He was a member of the Liberty Chapel United Methodist Church, Liberty Center, the Napoleon Moose Lodge #788, and a former member of Liberty Center’s I.O.O.F. and Harrison Gleaners.
Also surviving are a daughter, Mary Lou Myers of Napoleon; a brother, Ralph of Lakeland, Fla.; a sister, Thelma Hagerty of Liberty Center, four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, Bernard in 1933.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday in the Walker Mortuary, Napoleon, Rev. Marvin G. Schamaun officiating. Interment will be in Youngs Cemetery.
Friends may call at the mortuary from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday.
