Joe V. Myers, 77, Liberty Center, died at 9:15 a.m. Friday morning in his home. He was a founder of the Tri-County Rural Electric Association (R. E. A.), Napoleon.
He was born July 12, 1898, in Damascus Township to C. S. Myers and Suzanne March.
He married Bernice Schall on June 2, 1920, in Liberty Center and she survives.
He was a director of the R. E. A., and secretary-supervisor of the Farmers Home Administration, a former director of the Henry County Fair Board, a former chairman of the Henry County Chapter of the Red Cross, a United Auto Workers union member, and a member of the Liberty Center United Methodist Church.
Surviving are two sons, Dr. Robert B. Myers, Wellington; and Don B., Liberty Center; two daughters, Mrs. Arthur (Joan) Reimund, Malinta, and Mrs. Richard (Jean) Hasselschwert, Wauseon; one brother, Charles, Toledo; three sisters, Mrs. Abbie Daum, Liberty Center, Mrs. Gayetta Allan, Waterville, and Mrs. Kathryn Connolly, McAllen, Texas; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Services were held today (Monday) at 2 p.m. in Walker Mortuary, Napoleon, with Reverend Joseph Burnett officiating.
Interment was made in Youngs Cemetery, Liberty Center.
