Charles Sherman Myers was born in Damascus township, Henry county, O., on June 10, 1865. He departed this life on Jan. 6, 1945, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Chancy Connolly. On Jan. 1, 1890, he was united in marriage to Susanna March, who passed to her reward several years past. Children left to mourn their father are: Mrs. H. L. Allen, Toledo, Mrs. Chancy Connolly, Mrs. F. B. Dershem and Joe V., all of Napoleon, and Charles D., of Toledo. Two daughters, Orilla and Mildred, preceded him in death.
In the spring of 1900 he moved with his family to a farm in Washington township, two and one-half miles east of Liberty Center, where, he resided until his retirement from active farming several years ago. Since the death of his wife he had ressided with his daughters, Mrs. F. B. Dershem, and Mrs. Chancy Connolly.
At the age of 18 he joined the Olive Branch United Brethren church. Later, when he moved to Washington township, his church membership was transferred to the Methodist church at Liberty Center, which he attended and actively supported until his death.
He was a kind and generous father, a faithful, loving husband. He was deeply religious -- his faith in his God was unwavering. His life was a shining light for those who knew and loved him.
Services were conducted in the Methodist church at Liberty Center, Tuesday, Jan. 9, by his pastor, Rev. McCandlish. He rests beside his beloved wife in Young's cemetery, Liberty Center.
