Harold E Murphy, 65, of rural Liberty Center, died Friday evening at Henry County Hospital.
He was born March 3, 1920, in Delta, to Arthur and Minnie (Coleman) Murphy. He married Mildred Frankforther on Apr 20, 1941, and she survives.
Mr. Murphy was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Napoleon Disabled American Veterans 30. A truck driver for Henry County, he retired in 1976. Surviving besides his wife are two sons, James and Robert, both of Delta; three daughters, Mrs. Linda Meadows, Swanton; Mrs. Clyde (Judith) Rohrbaugh, Napoleon, and Kathlene Murphy, Colorado Springs, Col.; three brothers, Perry, Colton; Floyd, McClure; and Ira, State of Arizona; three sisters, Mrs. Paul (Clara) Deimer, Colton; Mrs. James (Nellie) Hill, Neapolis, and Mrs. Edward (Carrie) James, Garden Grove, Cal., and six grandchildren.
A sister, Nancy Paxton, preceded him in death.
Services will be held Tuesday, 2 p.m., at Croll-Wright Funeral Home, Liberty Center. The Rev. Isaac Johnston, of Liberty Center United Methodist Church, will be the officiant. Burial will be in Youngs Cemetery, where military graveside rites will be accorded by Liberty Center American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. today. The DAV will conduct a memorial service at 7 p.m. tonight.
