Obituary:
Earl Murdock, Well Known Local Resident, Dies
Services were held Monday afternoon for Earl Murdock, 81, who passed awa7 in the Henry County Hospital on Friday.
Mr. Murdock was born near Colton, O., on Feb. 17, 1879, the son of Isaac and Ida (Temple) Murdock.
Karl taught rural schools In Henry County for 22 years and was a member of the Liberty Center Board of Education and also of the Henry County School Board for several terms. He served one term as Henry County recorder, then managed grain elevators at Tontogany and at Liberty Center until he retired six years ago.
The Odd Fellows Lodge of Liberty Center, of which he was a member for over 60 years, held services at the Walker Mortuary on Sunday evening at 8 p.m.
In 1904 he was united in marriage with Ida Pearl Swartzlander and their married life was spent in and near Liberty Center, with the exception of two years spent in Napoleon.
Surviving besides his wife, are daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Crawford, Mrs. Lucille McGary and Mrs. Helen McOscar, all of Liberty Center and Mrs. Olive Keeler of Bay City, Mich., and sons Charles and Dale of Liberty Center and Ray of Palo Alto, Calif., 17 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, half sisters, Mrs. Esther Connolly and Mrs. Phoebe Rhodes of Liberty Center. His mother, father, a sister, stepmother, half-sister and half-brother preceded him in death.
