Mrs. Gertrude Murdock, 80, a retired Liberty Center elementary school teacher, died yesterday in ner home.
Mrs. Murdock, of Liberty Center O., was a graduate of Ohio Northern University and taught fifth and sixth grades at Fulton Centralized School, Ai, O. two years.
After raising her children, she returned to the classroom in 1954 and taught second grade in Liberty Center, retiring in 1974. Mrs. Murdock returned to school while she was teaching and earned a degree from Defiance College in 1960 She was a member of the Liberty Chapel United Methodist Church Liberty Center, Rebekah Lodge, Wauseon Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Ohio Retired Teachers Association. Surviving are her husband, Charles; sons, Herbert and Richard; sister, Helen Whiteman; seven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Liberty Chapel United Methodist Church. The body will be in the Croll-Wright Mortuary Liberty Center, after 7 tonight.
The family requests that any contributions be to a charity of the donor’s choice.
