Dale Murdock, 79, of Liberty Center died Saturday at the Medical College of Ohio Hospital of Toledo.
Born May 11, 1918, in Liberty Center, he was the son of Earl and Pearl (Swartzlander) Murdock. On March 1, 1941, he married Helen Leonard, who survives.
He owned and operated an egg business for four years, then merged with the McCully Egg Co. of Liberty Center in 1956. He retired in 1980. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Liberty Center and the Gilbert-Baughman Post #492 of the American Legion of Liberty Center, of which he was first vice commander and a 50-year member.
He is also survived by two daughters, Gayle Bostelman of Waterville and Kathy Bostelman of Archbold; a son, James Murdock of Napoleon; three sisters, Helen McOscar of Liberty Center, Olive Keeler of Bay City, Mich., and Lucille McGary of Liberty Center; a brother, Charles Murdock of Liberty Center; eight grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and three step great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Gertrude Crawford; and a brother, Ray Murdock.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Paul Lutheran Church of Liberty Center, Pastor William Thompson officiating. Interment will be at Youngs Cemetery of Liberty Center, where military services will be conducted by the American Legion and V.F.W.
The family suggests memorials be made to the church building fund or to a charity of the donor's choice.
