Charles Murdock, 93, of Liberty Center, died Friday at Medical College of Ohio Hospital of Toledo.
Born Jan. 20, 1905, in Liberty Center, he was the son of Earl and Pearl (Swartzlander) Murdock. On Sept. 20, 1930, he married Gertrude Whiteman, who preceded him in death on April 17, 1987.
He was a longtime farmer. He was a former Liberty Township trustee, Liberty Center Elevator board member, former member of the Liberty Center Historical Society, past member of IOOF and an honorary chapter farmer. He was also a member of Liberty Chapel Church.
He is survived by two sons, Richard of McClure and Herbert of Liberty Center; three sisters, Helen McOscar of Liberty Center, Olive Keeler of Bay City, Mich., and Lucille McGary of Liberty Center; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Tom; a sister, Gertrude Crawford; and two brothers, Ray and Dale.
Services were this morning at Liberty Chapel, Rev. Lynn Huffman officiated. Interment was at Youngs Cemetery of Liberty Center.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Liberty Center Fire and Rescue or to a charity of the donor's choice.
