Obituary
Valentine Mueller, son of Anton and Catherine Mueller, and one of 12 children, was born on Feb, 24, 1877, at Toledo, O., and departed this life Aug. 7, 1945, at the age of 68 years, 5 months and 13 days.
He was united in marriage to Elizabeth C. Wyman of Paola, Kans., on July 20, 1918, and to this union were born four children, one son and three daughters, one daughter, Nellie, preceding him in death on Dec, 4, 1927.
He was one of the ?rst to volunteer for service in the Spanish-American War. After the termination of this war he remained in the service as a member of the regular army and served in Alaska, the Philippines and Panama Canal Zone. He retired from the service in 1925 and moved to Liberty Center, where he had resided for the past twenty years.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Mueller; a son, Charles, serving in the army, two daughters, Valentina, of Los Angeles, Calif.; Rosemary, of Wauseon, O.; one sister, Mrs. Edith Haack, of Toledo; one brother; William Mueller, of Liberty Center; four grandsons, and a number of nieces, nephews and many friends.
