Joseph H. Mourer was born in Maryland and came with his parents to Zanesville, O. by ox team and wagon. He and his family came to Liberty Center when but a few houses comprised the town and, being a carpenter, he assisted in building many of those erected in early days. His wife and daughter preceded him in death. He was 78 years of age.
