Obituary:
Ernest Mourer, War Veteran, is Taken by Death
Ernest Mourer died at his home Saturday morning, Feb. 20, at 10 o’clock, aged 46 years, 6 months and 18 days.
He was a World War veteran and member of the American Legion Post No. 492, served from July 13, 1917, until his honorable discharge April 12, 1919. He served in the signal corps as an electrician, was in the Meuse-Argonne and at Ypres and awarded the Belgian Croix de Guerre.
He had served Liberty Center very efficiently for a number of years as superintendent of the Municipal Electric Light Plant and his loss will be keenly felt in the community.

Liberty Man Passes Away
Embolism Claims Life of Ernest Mourer, 46, Village Electrician
Ernest Mourer, 46, electrician employed by the Village of Liberty Center, died at his home there on Wabash Avenue at 9:45 Saturday morning of an embolism. Dr. G. M. Wright was in attendance at the time of death.
Mr. Mourer, who has been in ill health for some time, was an active member of the American Legion, having served overseas during the World War. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the Reformed Church, with the Baughman Post of the American Legion in charge. Interment was made in Young’s cemetery.
Surviving are two brothers, Mark of Ann Arbor, Mich., and Carl of Liberty Center, and one sister, the former Rhea Mourer, of Toledo, and his mother, Mrs. Helen Mourer, of Liberty Center.
