Elizabeth Jane, daughter of E. T. and Doreas Martin, was born in Marion County, October 3, 1861. Her parents moved to Henry County when she was quite young and settled in Liberty Center where she spent her childhood days and secured her schooling. She was married to George Morey August 22, 1879, and to this union was born one child, Ray E. The earlier part of her married life was spent on a farm in Liberty township. Twenty-five years ago Mr. and Mrs. Morey moved to Napoleon where they have resided ever since. She was ’preceded in death by her father who died June 2, 1891. Her mother has been her companion and friend living under the same roof all her life. It has been a beautiful and a very intimate devotion. She has been a faithful and humble follower of Jesus Christ all through life, uniting with the church early in life. During the twenty-five years of her residence here in Napoleon she has been a faithful and consistent member of the St. Paul’s Methodist Episcopal Church. She was deeply interested in missions, being a member of the Women's Foreign Missionary Society of her church. She enjoyed her Sunday school, being a member of class No. 9. When well she was always found in her place of worship and always greeted her many friends with a smile that shall not he forgotten. She leaves to mourn her departure a husband, son, mother, daughter-in-law, granddaughter, and besides this inner family circle she also leaves a large circle of friends who will miss her.
Funeral services were held at the home last Tuesday at 12 o’clock with the pastor Rev. E. S. Keller officiating. Burial at Liberty Center.
