Services Held Saturday for Emma Mires

Services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. in St. John’s Reformed Church for Mrs. Emma Eugenia Mires, 80, who died in her home here. The Rev. O. W. Stockmeier, Holgate, conducted the services. Burial was in Young’s Cemetery.

Mrs. Mires, a native of Texas, O., was the wife of John S. Mires, former editor and publisher of the Liberty Press. They observed their 50th wedding anniversary this summer.

She was a member of St. John’s Reformed Church and had served as church treasurer many years. She also was a primary teacher in the Sunday School and active in the Ladies’ Aid Society and Golden Rule Class.

Also surviving are her daughter, Mrs. Louisa Strock, Liberty Center; sons, John K., Liberty Center,, and David W., Findlay; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
