Mary Lucretia Miller, daughter of Caleb and Mary Older, was born on September 2, 1864, in Wood county, near Grand Rapids, and departed this life at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ray Liddle, Saturday, October 5, 1940.
In the year 1880 she was united in marriage with John Miller, and to this union were born seven children, two girls and fire boys, who survive to mourn her passing.
During most of her life the she was an active member of the church, only illness preventing her presence at services. For several years she had attended the Pilgrim Holiness church, where she made many friends, and for several years she was an active member of the Gleaner lodge.
In 1934 she was preceded in death by her husband, John Miller, whose death was the first in the immediate family.
She leaves to mourn her loss her five sons: Harvey E., of Detroit, Arthur O., of Hamler; John O, of Greenwich, O.; Walter D., of Columbus; two daughters, Blanche Kane, of McClure, and Iona Liddle, of Liberty Center; twenty-seven grandchildren, thirty-three great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; one brother, Joe W. Older, of Glendale, Cal., and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at her home in Liberty Center on Monday at 2. P. M. Miss Irene Tanier was the pastor. Interment was made in Young’s cemetery.
