Rev. George Miller was born in Seneca county, Ohio, Dec. 9, 1834. About the year 1835 he moved with his parents to Fulton county Ohio, where his boyhood days were spent on his father’s farm. He was married to Ellen Lelst, of Henry county, on Aug. 21, 1858. They lived happily in wedlock until June 7, 1897, when she departed this life. To this union seven children were born, four sons and three daughters, one son, Dr. Stanton E., having preceded him to the spirit world, three daughters and three sons survive him: Mrs. H. C. Miley, of Findlay, O., Mrs. Chas. Whiteman and Mrs. Lewis Spiess, of Liberty Center, and Homer H., of Newkirk, Okla., Charles and H. J., of Liberty Center.
He was again united in marriage to Mrs. Rachel King, of Florida, O., on Dec. 3, 1900, who still survives him.
He died at Florida, O., Nov. 25, 1906, aged 71 years, 11 months and 16 days.
Funeral at Liberty Center, in M. E. church, Nov. 27th, at 10 a.m., to a large number of relatives and friends, conducted by Rev. W. H. Baker, his pastor,assisted by Rev. J DeWitt, Johnson and Smith, after which the Masonic order, of which he was an honored member, took charge of the body and amid their imposing ceremony it was consigned to the tomb in Young's cemetery.
Mr. Miller was for 35 years an acceptable minister of the Gospel in the Christian Union connection, and his presence will be missed in his home, in his church and in his lodge.
