Two deaths within the week saddened the John S. Miller home in Liberty. Mrs. Amy Miller passed away Last Friday after a long illness and Mrs. Harriet Lyman died on Monday.
Amy Estella Miller
Mrs. Amy Estella Miller (nee Rogers) was born Nov. 21, 1880, one of two daughters of William C. and. Clara Rogers, and departed this life March 31, I960 at 4:20 p.m. following an extended illness.
On June 25, 1899, she was united in marriage with John S. Miller and to this union were born four children: William J., of Cincinnati; Clarence R., who passed away at the age of ten years; Rogers L., and Lawrence C., of Liberty Center.
For the most part her life was spent in the Liberty Center vicinity except for fourteen years in Fulton county. A little more than three years ago they moved to their home in Liberty Center from their country home and had celebrated their golden wedding anniversary last June at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Rogers Miller.
Mrs. Miller and her husband united with the Liberty Center Methodist church in 1903 under the pastorate of the Rev. C. M. Barker.
She leaves to await their coming the husband, John S., and above named sons; an only sister, Grace Rogers; grandchildren, Ensign Roger of Quonset, Rhode Island; Janet; Jimmy and Lee of Liberty Center, and Bobby of Cincinnati, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted from the Methodist church Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock with Rev. David Eichar officiating. Burial was made in Young’s cemetery.
