Walter William 'Mac' McClure July 19, 1919 - June 24, 1998
Walter 'Mac' McClure, 78, of Liberty Center died Wednesday at Henry County Hospital.
Born July 19, 1919, in Bryan, he was the son of John and Margaret (Hiler) McClure. He married Doris Bankus, who preceded him m death in 1970.
He owned and operated the McClure Market of Liberty Center from 1949-1971. He also worked at Continental Motors in Detroit. He was a member of the Gilbert-Baughman Post #492 of the American Legion of Liberty Center, where he was a past commander. He was a former member of the Liberty Center Rotary Club, where he was a past president. He served in the Army Air Force during World War II.
He is survived by two sons, James of Liberty Center and John of Holland, Ohio; five sisters, Pauline Thompson of Toledo, Carolyn Willford of Elery, Alma McKinnon of Defiance, Margaret Crawford of Milton Center and Joan Groll of Lexington, Ohio; two brothers, Richard of Fremont, Ind., and Roy of New River, Ariz.; and two grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Gretchen Shroyer; and two brothers, John and Paul.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Wright Funeral Home of Liberty Center, Pastor William Thompson officiating. Interment will be at Youngs Cemetery of Liberty Center.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
