Frances J. McClure, daughter of Samuel and Jeannette Vandervoort, was born near Columbus, O., on Jan. 4, 1881.
She came from a family of four children, two girls and two boys; with the exception of the parents, the remainder of the family survives her.
At the age of fourteen years (1895) she moved with her parents to northwestern Ohio, near Oakwood, Paulding county. Three years later they moved to Henry county, near Liberty Center, on the canal. On Jan. 4, 1899, she was united in marriage to Marion C. McClure, of Liberty Center. To this union were born two sons, who preceded her in death in their infancy.
After their marriage they made their home in Columbus, then in 1912 moved to Cleveland, where they remained until about two years ago, when they made their home in Pontiac, Mich.
Her public school education was received in the district schools. Her church affiliations began when she was fifteen years of age, uniting with the Bethel Christian church at Arthur, O., in Paulding county.
Her fraternal relationships were made at Liberty Center in 1922 when she became an Eastern Star. She enjoyed good health most of her life, until about Easter time (April 9, 1939) she became somewhat indisposed and in June was bedfast; and on Nov. 23, 1939, expired. Her sojourn in this life was 58 years, 10 months and 19 days.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, one sister, Mrs. Nora Swineheart, Akron; two brothers, G. H. Vandervoort, Michigan Hills, Cal., and Jesse, of Akron; also one niece, Mrs. Louise Swineheart Duff, of Cleveland, and many friends.
The funeral service was held Nov. 26 at Liberty Center, in the Segrist home, conducted by Rev. L. D. Fauver.
