A former Liberty Center rsident, Mrs. Norma McClarren, ’79, of Westerville, Ohio died Friday, July 26 in Riverside Hospital, Columbus, after several weeks as a patient there.
She was born in Liberty Township, October 20, 1895, the eldest daughter of Herbert L. and M. Estella (Bonnell) Whiteman. She was a graduate of Wauseon High School, the class of 1914, and Old Lakeside Hospital, School of Nursing of Cleveland. She was also a Past Matron of the Mizpah Chapter, Eastern Star, a member of the Church of Messiah, Westerville, a Rebekah, Grange and D.A.R. member.
In 1920 she married Howard McClarren, and he survives. They had just recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Other survivors Include a son, Robert of Waukegan, III., a daughter, Margaret Ann Whjte, Houston, Texas, five grandchildren and three sisters, Miss Marjorie Whiteman, Miss Helen Whiteman and Mrs. Charles (Gertrude) Murdock, all of Rt. 1, Liberty Center.
Funeral Services were held Tuesday morning, July 30 at the Moreland Mortuary, Westerville.
Graveside services with Rebekah and D.A.R. services were held Tuesday afternoon in the Young Cemetery, Liberty Center, where Interment was made.
