Wayne Allen McCabe, 78, of Hamler died Friday evening at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo.
Born April 17, 1925, in Delta, he was the son of Ray and Dorothy (Hermann) McCabe. He married Betty Warmack, who preceded him in death. On Dec. 28, 1956, he married Audrey Bemius, who preceded him in death.
He was a carpenter and truck driver, working for the Carpenters' Union of Napoleon and Hoops Trucking of Deshler. He was a member of Warren L. McIntire Post #262 American Legion, Hamler.
He is survived by two daughters, Darlene Babcock and JoAnne McCabe, both of Napoleon; six sons, Dennis of St. Cloud, Fla., Larry and Jerry, both of Granite City, Ill., Marc of Delta, David of Grand Rapids and John of Liberty Center; two sisters, Betty Bradish of Adrian, Mich., and Arlene Regan of Toledo; his significant other, Marcine Thomas of Hamler; 19 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Audrey McCabe; and two brothers, Bernard and Merlin.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Wright Funeral Home, Liberty Center, Pastor Don Schiewer officiating. Interment will follow at Youngs Cemetery, Liberty Center, where military services will be accorded by the Warren L. McIntire Post #262 American Legion.
Visitation will be from 2-9 p.m. today the funeral home.
The family suggests memorials be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
