Robert Lynn McCabe, son of Charles and Sylvia Hull McCabe, was born on the farm where he had spent his entire life on April 1, 1898, and departed this life Saturday, May 16, 1953, having attained the age of 65 years, one month, and fifteen days.
Recently he had complained of not feeling well and several of the neighbors assisted him with plowing, giving aid to the spring work.
On June 15, 1918 he was united in marriage with Rowena Travis, and to this union were born three children: twin sons, Robert Keith and Harrison Kenneth, both of Napoleon, and one daughter, Bernadine (Mrs. Dale Kern), of Sylvania.
Mr. McCabe had a pleasing personality and was well thought of by all who knew him. His passing has brought sorrow to the hearts of many. He was known for his willingness to lend a helping hand, for his kindness and willing. spirit. Those who knew him best will mourn their loss the most.
He was a member of the Liberty IOOF lodge.
He is survived by the companion, the three children, his aged mother, Sylvia McCabe, and one brother, Ray, of Liberty Center, six grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
Services were conducted from the Walker mortuary Tuesday afternoon, May 19, at 1:30. The Rev. David L. Eichar, pastor of the Liberty Center Methodist church, officiated. Burial was In Young’s cemetery at Liberty Center.

Man Found Dead in Barn
The body of Robert McCabe, well known farmer, of Rt 1, Napoleon, was found hanging in the barn on his farm Saturday morning by his wife, Rowena.
Mr. McCabe had gone to the barn preparatory to starting the day’s work and when he did not return in a reasonable length of time Mrs. McCabe investigated. He had not been in the best of health for some time. Dr. Thomas Quinn of Napoleon, acting Henry county coroner, gave a verdict of suicide.
Mr. McCabe was a member of the Liberty Center IOOF Lodge. He is survived by his wife, Rowena; sons, Keith and Kenneth, Napoleon; daughter, Mrs. Bernadine Kern, Sylvania; mother, Mrs. Sylvia McCabe, Liberty Center, and a brother, Ray, of Liberty Center.
Services were held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Walker mortuary in Napoleon, with burial in Young's cemetery, Liberty Center, Rev. David L. Eichar officiating.
