Charles McCabe was born in Cincinnati, O., Nov. 2, 1867, and departed this life Oct. 23, 1960, nine days less than 88 years of age.
On Nov. 15, 1893, he was united in marriage with Sylvia Hull, and to this union were born two sons, Ray E., of Liberty Center, and Robert L., of Rt. 1, Napoleon.
Mr. McCabe spent nearly his entire life on the farm.
He leaves to mourn their loss, his loving wife, who tended him . during his illness; the sons, eight ' grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, and other relatives and many friends.
Services were conducted from the Walter funeral home Thursday afternoon at two o’clock with Rev. David L. Eichar officiating. Burial was in Young’s cemetery.

Chas. McCabe Rites Held Thursday
Last rites for Chas. McCabe, 83, retired Liberty township farmer, who died at his home October 23, were conducted Thursday afternoon in the Walter Funeral Home in Liberty Center. Rev. David L. Eichar, pastor of Liberty Center Methodist Church, officiated. Interment followed in Young’s cemetery.
Surviving are his wife, two sons, Ray E., Liberty Center and Robert L. Route 1, Napoleon; also eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Mr. McCabe was born in Cincinnati, November 2, 1867, and came to Henry county with his father with whom he was engaged in the boating business on the old Miami & Erie canal until it ceased to be a paying proposition. After retiring from the canal boating business his father bought the farm along the canal in Liberty township, where he resided until several years ago, when he retired and turned the farm over to his son, Robert L. The farm in its history had only two owners ahead of grandfather, Alexander McCabe, who had acquired it by a government deed.
